Mujhe Nazar se gira to rahe ho

this morning I was listening to a very touching song by Mehnadi Hasan........and I was soon taken back in time..........god knows if you can match the sentiments or not, but to me this song was just a reflection of my sentiments..........

Mujhe tum nazar se gira to rahe ho.....
Mujhe tum kabhi bhi bhula na sakogey.

Na jaane mujhe kyun...yakeen ho chala hai.....
mere pyaar ko kabhi mita na sakogey

Meri yaad hogi.....jidhar jaaogi tum.....
kabhi nagma ban ke...kabhi banke aansoo
tapdta mujhe har mujhe taraf paaogey
shama jo jalai hai meri pyar ne.....
bujhana bhi chaho.....bujha na paaogey

.
.
.

kisi ne jo poocha....sabab aasuo kaa
kisi ko kuch bata na sakogey

Have a good and a grasping time with this song.........here is the video - Mujhe Nazar se gira to rahe ho by Mehndi Hasan

hp-invent (which tried to invent somethin at my college campus)

I don't want to blame hp for anything...afterall it gave me a luxurious life for 27 months and a brand value which anyone on this earth would just die for.........but today I am drunk again and I feel like penning down some thoughts which are just not letting me this thought go away just like that(afterall the stage is already set for me)...and so I decide to write down this life time experience which only a few on this earth would ever experience.

well......those were my final year days at college and the only thing one could have discussed any-time and every-time was the companies which were supposed to come to our campus for the employment opportunity. And definitely I was the one of those aspirants who was ready to work for the next generation of the corporate family-tree.

it all started with the TCS coming to our campus (and this was almost like every other year when TCS came to our campus in the very first slot).......and going by our college tradition.......all the big shots of the college did appear for it (afterall getting placed in the first slot was a great pride afterall).......so most of the batch did attempt the test.......and finally some got selected including two of my dear friends...Mittal and Fastee........(want to know about them....contact any of my batchmates.....they are damn popular guys from my batch)........ now before you start thinking about me.......let me tell you something..........I didn't appear for the test itself.....as I rated TCS much below my personal levels of rating a company on my parameters. (sorry folks but TCS is really one such company which is fit to ruin your life if you are looking for some use of your engineering education while at job......I am sure all my frnds will agree to this). So first company came and spread all the charisma in whatever way it could in those 2 days......and while going back actually selected more than 150 to-be-engineers for their offices spread all across India.

I was still an aspirant for the next few companies...........

then came Oracle,...........as the very name says.....Oracle........guess its respect at our campus was more like an Oracle......anyone who got an offer from this company used to get an extra-ordinary respect.......sometimes they used to get respect which was more than our CompSc teachers.......(I specially reember Sahoo and Sarkar when I say that some students were really better than these PhD holder teachers)......whatever.........at Oracle test some people appeared (more because TCS took all possible engineers.....and also the criteria for Oracle was too high)........I also wanted to join the Oracle team.........I tried for it......but those 20 DBMS questions killed all my chances......and finally I didn't make it to Oracle....and got rejected in the very initial written test. So I moved ahead after boozing on some more nights and weekdays.

Next was Wipro.........and I was at home .... didn't appear for it, yet again........reason for not appearing for Wipro was same......not upto my expectation level.......but when I came back to the college after a sojourn at my home I came to know that Wipro has taken away most of my class-mates and all the good looking girls of our college..........and then I realized that companies dont come for selecting engineers......they come for vacation and then while going back they try to pick some good memories from the college. They selected some 40+ hot-chicks of the college....the interview panel actually had the shameless audacity to break all the rules.

I don't remember which was the next company....but all I can remember is that I used to appear for an interview every Tuesday (In Indian mythology Tuesday is the day when god Hanuman ji worshiped......and I am a big devotee of Hanuman ji......this is yet again an irony...because he is a mascot and epitome of brahamcharya.....and me.....hahahaha...totally opposite)....I think my Tuesday story for companies had these companies - Oracle, Tata Motots, Freescale Semiconductors , Flextronics, and then finally hp.....after which......on all Tuesdays for the rest of the year I drunk like hell......I guess I drunk like hell on the Tuesdays of my final year (pakka Hanuman-ji is very angry with me even now :( ..... ).

Before I proceed onto the hp story I would just like to mention that Freescale Semiconductors contunes to be my dream company.........and I adore it for its cutting edge technology and also the work-culture........

By the time I was appearing for interviews on tuesdays more than 50% of my class was already placed ... and day-by-day it was getting damn difficult to sit in the same class more because suddenly it started to look as if I am going to remain unemployed in this life-time whenever I compared myself with them. But thanks god I did have the courage to stand that phase, and and that too in my very own style..........booze like hell....and go for classes at my self-decided timings. And the only thing missing was the icing on the cake (which was my job).

So sometime later I got the news that hp is coming to our campus, and everyone was confused that how can such a big brand name ever come to our campus........that was more like a moment when almost everyone saw each other in disbelief.....but later everyone consoled each(after knowing the actual name of the company) other by saying that actual hp nahin hai kya hua lekin hp to hai :) , actually it was hp-GDIC which is into Software Services and its 'actual' hp's services division to gain India's talent pool advantage.

Whatever.......actually the day came when I had to appear for the selection process.....and as expected I did bunk the classes to do some last minute preparation......although I didn't study at all. In the evening the process started and as expected I did clear the written (nothing to boast about it......I actually did clear most of the writtens I appear for...excluding Oracle). And now was the time to have a look at the list of those who were to appear for the interview.....well from my class there were 4 names in all - Singh, Ranjan, Nayanam, and Gautam (yes....Gautam!). Dont know why but I did get the gut feeling at that very point that Nayanam and Gautam are going in the same company. (Dont know why people say that I did some kind of trickery to achieve this same company for Nayanam & Gautam...but trust me......nothing like that)

I guess I jumped the guns and told you that Nayanam and Gautam were selected for this company, but a little before actually getting selected there is something which will remain with me through out my life...........

Dont know weather to include it in this post or write another one.......I guess I would write another one soon...........but just remember that hp did try to invent some while I was sitting infront of the interview panel and also the experience was so different that its worth sharing.......come back soon!

bbye!
